Oh so close! Rick Pries picked a great day to shoot his career low round of 78, unfortunately it was 1 stroke away from qualifying for state. Rick shot a 2 over 39 on his front nine and started his back nine with 4 straight bogeys, but finished with 5 straight pars to shoot 39 on the back and finish with his 78. Tyler Chambers and Jake Arden finished their storied Johnsburg golf careers shooting an 83 and 84.

Great season men! It was a blast! You should all be very proud of your season.

Our 3 golfers will be teeing off 27 minutes apart on Monday hoping to put together a solid round and make it to the state tournament.

Rick Pries will tee off the 10th hole at 10:20.
Jake Arden will tee off the 1st hole at 10:38.
Tyler Chambers will be in the last group of the day, teeing off the 1st hole at 10:47.

The Freshmen and Sophomores finished their season on Saturday at the F/S FVC Tournament at Renwood Golf Course. Man, was it cold, but the boys did a great job finishing in 7th place. This is the best FVC tournament finish since Johnsburg joined the Fox Valley four years ago. The 366 was also the lowest FVC tournament score ever. The 7th place finish was a 3 place improvement from regular season. Not only did the boys survive the 43 degree, 5 hour round, they came home with some hardware. Chad Lasky finished in 5th place out of the 70+ golfers playing on Saturday, while Cullen Mulvey finished in 8th place. Chad's 85 was the best F/S tournament score by an individual in 4 years. A great way to finish a great year. Nice job fellas!!!

Between the sophomore and varsity football games on Friday night our 4 seniors and their parents will be recognized at Senior Night.

Jake Arden, Kevin Betke, Tyler Chambers and Tim Healy should meet at the east end of the football field around 6:30.

I will be at the girls' regional today. Rick Pries, Tyler Chambers, Jake Arden, Chad Lasky, Alec Brown, Brandon Ridout, Brian Legnaioli, Cullen Mulvey, Ryan Baron and Ben Dingman should go to Pro Circle and practice on their own.

I will be back tomorrow. We will practice at Pro Circle at 2:45 on Thursday.

For the third tournament in a row, the Skyhawks avoided the rain and played one of their best rounds ever. Tyler Chambers finished in 6th place overall to pace the Hawks to a school record* 327 and a fourth place finish at Renwood Golf Course. Jake Arden wasn't too shabby either shooting a 79 and finishing 7th. Rick Pries' 80 gave him 8th place overall. The Skyhawks missed out on their second consecutive sectional berth by 2 strokes.

* (The Skyhawks' 327 was aided by the local rule today of lift, clean and place. The 330 that the Hawks shot at last year's sectional will stand as the official school record.)

All sectional qualifiers and F/S tournament participants (Lasky, Brown, Ridout, Legnaioli, Mulvey, Baron, & Dingman) should practice either at Pro Circle or Chapel Hill,

I WILL BE AT THE GIRLS REGIONAL TOURNAMENT AND WON'T BE BACK FOR PRACTICE - Practice somewhere on your own.

Thursday, October 8 - Practice
All sectional qualifiers and F/S tourney participants will practice at Pro Circle after school.

Friday, October 9 - Practice Rounds
All sectional qualifiers will practice at Pheasant Run Golf Course. I will make tee times and will do my best to come with. I have an institute day and don't know if I can come yet.

Saturday, October 10 - Tournament and Practice
F/S Tournament at Renwood - Tee time 12 noon - Bus time 10:45AM
Sectional qualifiers should play somewhere.

Sunday, October 11 - Practice
Sectional qualifiers will practice. Location TBD

In their final tuneup before the IHSA Regional tournament on Tuesday, the Hawks won the four team Antioch Invite on Saturday at Antioch Country Club. Jake Arden was the medalist shooting a 78, while Tyler Chambers finished in 3rd place with an 82. With their 3 victories today, the Skyhawks finish their dual season winning 10 times and losing 8, only the second winning season this decade, heck, the second winning season this century. Overall, JHS is 41-20, including an impressive 36-3 non conference record.
