JHS Boys - Fran Noyes Invitational @ The Oak Club of Genoa - Saturday, September 22, 2007

The JHS boys varsity team played very well at the Fran Noyes Invitational on Saturday. With 20 teams and the unique Stableford scoring system, the Hawks finished in 6th place with 105 points, up 3 spots from last year. Points were awarded for each hole.

Par - 2 points
Birdie - 4 points
Eagle - 7 points
Double eagle - 14 points

Jake Arden shot a 79 and scored 26 points. Tyler Chambers shot an 81, scoring 24 points. Zach Gasior shot 84 and also scored 24 points. Cody Krueger scored 18 points while shooting 87 and Tim Mulvey scored 18 points, shooting an 85. The team's score of 329 is an unofficial school record.

The Skyhawks played better than their season average, but it wasn't enough to beat the Blue Streaks at their home course. Tim Mulvey led the Hawks with a 40 and Tyler Chambers added a 41. The Hawks are now 2-8 in the FVC and 4-10 overall. Woodstock is 7-3 in the conference and 9-3 overall.

The Skyhawks shot a 176 for the third time this season, falling to the Tigers by 16. Zach Gasior led the Hawks for the 2nd straight day shooting a 43. The varsity linksters are now 2 - 7 in the FVC and 4 - 9 overall.

JHS 173 - Huntley 193

The Skyhawks continued their solid play with an easy victory over Huntley at Pinecrest. Zach Gasior was a medalist in a high school match for the first time in his career shooting a 40. Jake Arden added a 43. The Hawks are now 2-6 in the Fox Valley Conference and 3-9 overall.
