JHS vs. Grayslake North - Chapel Hill, September 25, 2012

The Knights and Skyhawks battled through nine holes at the nicest day yet at Chapel Hill. The winner would take home 3rd place in the Fox Valley Fox division. Leading by 19 with one group to play, Grayslake North turned in a 41 and a 38 to squeak out the victory.

Cullen Mulvey birdied his last hole of the day to finish with a 39 to lead the Skyhawks.

The JV Hawks finished their dual season with a 6-6 record. Jake Doherty's season low of 43 was the best for the JVers.

Float building for the freshmen and sophomores after school.
Practice round at Crystal Woods for juniors and seniors if they can.

Thursday's Fox Valley Conference tournament will be at Crystal Woods. Bus time is 7AM. Shotgun start at 8:30.

A partial roster for the tournament is on the Weekly Schedule and Lineups page. The last two spots will be determined tomorrow. All players will be notified personally at school.

JHS vs. Grant - Chapel Hill, Monday, September 24

Despite a miniature golf course like 14th green, (average score for both teams was 7.6) the Skyhawks played the other nine holes well and defeated the Bulldogs 176 to 199. Jesse Blankenship, playing in his very first varsity match ever, was the medalist with a 43, along with Alec Brown. Ben Dingman added a 44.

The JV Hawks bested Grant 198 to 212 to run their dual record to 5-6.  Zach Matejka and Colin Wotring each shot 48 to lead the younger Skyhawks.

JHS at Fran Noyes Invite - Oak Club of Genoa, Saturday, September 22

The varsity made the trip out to Genoa for their annual tournament at the Oak Club of Genoa. It was about 50 degrees at tee off with the wind howling at around 20 mph. The Skyhawks started slowly but made a birdie or two and had a handful of pars to finish with 66 points and a 14th finish out of 24 teams.

Alec Brown finished with 21 points. Ben Dingman had 17 points, Cullen Mulvey 11, Joey Kass finished with 10 and Steffan Miller had 7.

The Skyhawks will finish up the regular season with 2 home matches this week. Monday, Grant comes to visit and on Tuesday, the Grayslake North Knights arrive for some golf action.

If you are not in the lineup, come out to Chapel to get a practice round in.

And finally, remind your parents that Chapel Hill is NOT allowing spectators at all.
