Grant Bulldog Invite @ Antioch Golf Course - Saturday, August 27, 2011

The Skyhawks bounced back after their defeat Thursday night to take 2nd place at the Grant Bulldog Invite. With all six players shooting 90 or better and all six players finishing in the top 16 individually, the Skyhawks had their best tournament finish in two years.

Alec Brown shot an 84 to pace the Hawks and earn 9th place. Colin Goulet's 85 took 10th place, Cullen Mulvey and Ben Dingman each shot 86s to take 11th and 12th place.  Ryan Baron's 88 and Brian Legnaioli's 90 rounded out the scoring.

Monday's practice is at Boone Creek. You DO NOT have to take the bus, but the bus will leave the front of the school at 3 and will leave Boone Creek to come home at 4:30.

JHS vs. Grayslake Central @ Stonewall Orchard - Thursday, August 25, 2011

The boys golf teams played at the nicest course in the whole Fox Valley Conference and probably the most difficult when they visited Stonewall Orchard on Thursday. The varsity Hawks dropped their second conference match of the year to the Rams 173 to 190.  Colin Goulet shot a 44 to lead the Skyhawks with Ryan Baron adding a 47. The Skyhawks are now 0-2 in the conference, 2-3 in duals and 5-5 overall.

The JV Skyhawks stayed undefeated beating Grayslake Central 193 to 199. Ben Dingman shot a 44, Jake Schyvinck added a 46 and Zach Matejka carded a 48 to pace the Hawks.  The JV squad is now 2-0 in the conference and 2-0 overall.

The Skyhawks traveled out to Huntley to compete in a quad match with former Big Northern foes Huntley, Marengo and Harvard. The Skyhawks shot a 175 to finish second out of 4 teams. Cullen Mulvey and Brian Legnaioli each shot a 43 to lead the way. Colin Goulet's 44 and Alec Brown's 45 also counted for the Hawks. The team moves to 2-2 in dual matches and 5-4 overall.

In the opening night of the Fox Valley Conference season, the Skyhawks fell behind early but came back to take a lead but dropped a close one with the Blue Streaks 165 to 171. Jake Gasior played in his first match of the season and led the Hawks with a 41. Ryan Baron and Cullen Mulvey added 43s and Daniel Landon rounded out the scoring with a 44. The Skyhawks fall to 0-1 on the new season.

The JV Skyhawks won their match against the Streaks, winning by 24 strokes, 177 to 201. Corey Smith shot a career low 41 to lead the Hawks to victory. Jesse Blankenship and Ben Dingman each posted a 45 and Jake Schyvinck shot a 46.
