Johnsburg High School Golf

It might have been the nicest day ever for a Regional, beautiful sun, light breeze. Grant Fisher and Jake Schyvinck took advantage of the great conditions and played well enough to qualify for next week's IHSA Sectionals in Freeport. Grant shot an 85 and was the 8th qualifier, but Jake's entry was far more interesting. Tying for the 10th and last spot, Jake headed to the 1st tee for a tiebreaker. His approach shot landed 8 feet from the pin and an easy two putt qualified Jake for sectionals.

In a regional warmup, the Skyhawks shot the lowest 18 hole score in years, placing 2nd in the Antioch Quad. Zach Matejka continued his hot streak leading the way with an 81.

The JV Skyhawks concluded their season hosting the Fox Valley Conference JV tournament on Saturday at Nippersink. The weather man cooperated and all 18 holes were played. Sean Rorig shot a 99 in his last ever JV match while Anthony Moore helped out with a 101.
