IHSA Sectionals @ Park Hills Golf Course, Freeport, IL - Monday, October 14, 2013
The day was beautiful, conditions were perfect, maybe the trees were a little too big, but other than that, a great day to play golf.
Senior Jake Schyvinck and Freshman Grant Fisher competed, along with 110 other young hopefuls at the IHSA Sectional Tournament in Freeport on Columbus Day.
Nerves and a tight course weren't the greatest way to start a day, but both Jake and Grant played pretty good golf on a windy Monday. Jake started his front nine with a 51, which wasn't so bad considering he had to play at least 6 shots from behind trees. He came back with a nice 44 and finished his high school career with a 95. Grant was very consistent carding 44s on both nines.
A special high five goes out to Jesse Blankenship for coming and a rooting his teammates on, on a day off of school no less. Thanks, Jesse. I know your teammates and their parents appreciated it.
End of season banquet next Tuesday at 7 in the Learning Center.
If you haven't brought in your equipment, do it quickly or face some detention time.
