IHSA Sectionals @ Pheasant Run - Monday, October 12, 2009
Oh so close! Rick Pries picked a great day to shoot his career low round of 78, unfortunately it was 1 stroke away from qualifying for state. Rick shot a 2 over 39 on his front nine and started his back nine with 4 straight bogeys, but finished with 5 straight pars to shoot 39 on the back and finish with his 78. Rick finished in 13th place out of 84 golfers. The official IHSA link can be found at http://go.ihsa.org/reports/gob68966.htm
Tyler Chambers and Jake Arden finished their storied Johnsburg golf careers shooting an 83 and 84.
Great season men! It was a blast! You should all be very proud of your season.

Seeing the season end was a tough pill to swallow, expecially with such high hopes of Johnsburg finally sending a player to state. But it wasn't meant to be and the boys gave it their all but fell short. They should keep their heads high, they had a great season, Rick has a shot again next year and the 2 seniors have accomplished so much in their 4 years to be proud of.
I want to thank all involved in JHS Golf for 4 great years of fun as a spectator. Players past and present have been fun to watch, and I've enjoyed the kids along the way. It was nice to see kids come in as freshmen and leave as young men.
Coach Frey, I've said it before the program has been a success due to your hard work and ability to teach the players more than golf. The program has recieved numerous compliments on the players good behavior on the course, politeness and sportsmanship, you respect the players and they respect you. I thank you for helping these boys become young men on and off the course. Good Luck to all JHS Golfers the ones playing in college, the ones graduating and moving on to play at a higher level and the returning underclassmen that look to have a lot of talent coming up. Again, thanks for the ride, and congratulations on a great season.
